Peony is a famous flowering plant in China. It is elegant, brightly colored, and of great variety, thus known as “the First in Tens of Thousands of Flowers”.

The Peony is native to the Qinling Mountains in China, and the cultivation of it dates back to over 1,500 years. The peony is a famous ornamental flower. It boasts the laudatory titles of “the national beauty and heavenly fragrance”, “the queen flower” and “the best of flowers”. In the Kaiyuan period of Tang Dynasty (713-741), the peony had become a well-known ornamental flower. In those times, when it came to the last spring, the whole Chang’an City would turn out and rush to admire the peonies. The peony witnesses the prosperity of the capital of Tnag Dynasty.

The peony is 2 meters’ high, with large leaves. The main attraction of peony is its flower. Each year in April, the large and beautiful peony flowers begin to bloom. Surrounded with green leaves, they look really beautiful and charming. The color of the flowers is varied, usually ranging from dark red to pink, yellow, white or green.
