2、arch Institute, Council of Agriculture Abstract Commercial plant nutrients are used in order to promote crop growth, produce higher yield and quality, enhance resistance, and improve soil characteristics. In these studies, we evaluated phytotoxicity potential of commercial plant nutrients on local c

3、rops. Bioassay used involved planting pre-germinated seeds of tested species in filter papers soaked in the solutions of tested plant nutrients and measuring the radicle length after 5 days. 1% solution of tested plant nutrients showed that pH ranged from 3.1 to 9.0, and electric conductivity lay be

4、tween 74 and 5820 uS/cm. Responses of radical elongation of tested crops to plant nutrients with different dilution revealed marked difference. It would divide into five groups on the basis of suppressed degree of radical elongation. The first group exhibited unapparent difference of radical length

5、at any treated rate of tested plant nutrients. The second group had approximately 20% inhibition at 10 3 times of dilution. The third group treated with 10 4 and10 3 times of dilution was up to 24% and 46% reduction, respectively. The fourth group reduced apparently by about 28% at 10 5 times of dil

6、ution, 73% and 91% at 10 4 and10 3 times of diluted rates. The last one expressed obviously different tendency to tested chemicals. It appeared there had acceleration of radical elongation at 10 4 and10 5 times of dilution. Within tested crops, lettuce was the most sensitive to treated chemicals, mu
