钟山历史悠久、文脉绵长，有“中华城中人文第一山”的美誉。这里有世界文化遗产明孝陵，也有入选世界文化遗产预备名录的中山陵。为了让世界各国友人了解钟山，即日起，景区将定期以多国语言，面向世界介绍钟山生态、人文之美，传递中华优秀传统文化。

The Zhongshan Mountain has a long history and rich cultural heritage, and is thus known as the “Most Culturally Important Mountain in Chinese Cities”. Its attractions include the Xiaoling Tomb of the Ming Dynasty, which is a world cultural heritage site, and Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum, which has been included in the world cultural heritage sites tentative list. From now on, to help foreigners know about the Zhongshan Mountain, the scenic area will regularly introduce its ecological and cultural beauty to the world in multiple languages, and diseminate fine traditional Chinese culture.

“春为一岁首，梅占百花魁”，梅花作为花中“四君子”之首，自古就受到文人墨客的喜爱。

Just like spring comes first in the year, plum trees bloom earlier than all other plants. Ranking first among the “four most elegant flowers”, which symbolize noble and unsullied spirit, plum blossoms have been loved by literati since ancient times.

早在明朝，钟山脚下就有一处赏梅胜地梅花坞，梅花坞是明代宫廷所设梅园，所结梅子供宫廷祭祀之用。每株梅树上都悬挂着书有“御用”二字的木牌，明代刑律严酷，没人敢攀枝折花，因此梅花茂盛。入清以后，梅花坞逐渐湮没。

As early as the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), there was a plum blossom attraction called Meihuawu at the foot of the Zhongshan Mountain. It was a plum garden of the Ming imperial court, and the plums yielded were used as a sacrificial offering by the court. Each plum tree was attached with a wooden plate bearing the characters meaning “for imperial use only”. Due to the harsh criminal laws in the Ming Dynasty, no one dared to pick the flowers, so the plum blossoms were luxuriant. However, after the beginning of the Qing Dynasty (1636-1912), Meihuawu was gradually deserted.

今天的钟山脚下，有一处远远胜过当年梅花坞的赏梅胜地，就是南京梅花山。

At the foot of the Zhongshan Mountain today, there is a plum blossom scenic spot far superior to the Meihuawu of the past. It is the Plum Blossom Hill.

南京梅花山位于世界文化遗产明孝陵景区内，是国内唯一位于世界文化遗产内的赏梅胜地，融自然山水景观与历史文化内涵于一体。全园占地总面积约1500亩，园内植梅35000余株，目前共有梅花品种约380余种，其中国际登录梅品种155个。

Located within the Ming Tomb Scenic Area, which is a world cultural heritage site, the hill is the only plum blossom viewing destination in China that enjoys such a unique location, integrating natural landscape with historical and cultural elements. With a total area of about 100 hactares, the hill has more than 35,000 plum trees of about 380 varieties, including 155 internationally registered ones.

目前，梅花山无论植梅历史、规模、数量、品种，还是自然与文化积淀，在我国众多赏梅胜地中均名列前茅，加之自然起伏的山形地势，被誉为“天下第一梅山”。

At present, the Plum Blossom Hill ranks among the top in China in terms of plum-planting history, scale, quantity and variety, as well as natural and cultural richness. With undulating terrain, it is known as the “No. One Plum Garden in China”.
