由稻瘟菌小麦型（Magnaporthe oryzae Triticum，MoT）【注：病菌中文名称翻译未必准确】引起的麦瘟病，是南美和孟加拉国小麦生产中的新型破坏性病害。麦瘟病主要发生在小麦穗部，适宜病害发生的条件下可造成小麦绝收。小麦穗部侵染点以上的小穗部分或完全白化（白穗症状），并造成空穗或瘪粒减产。由于缺少有效的杀菌剂和抗病小麦品种，迫切需要提出麦瘟病的综合治理方案。（1）针对种子和发病早期麦田，便捷可靠的病害检测手段有利于控制病原菌最初感染量和传播。（2）麦瘟病的流行学和实时病害检测技术研究，将为小麦种植者提供防治最佳时间选择。（3）了解病原菌生物学特性，及其侵染小麦过程中的组织学和分子生物学水平变化，将为防控该病害提供新思路。（4）利用远缘杂交导入抗病基因或基因编辑，可加快小麦抗麦瘟病抗病育种进程。（5）综合利用生物防治等多种防治手段，有望达到持久控制该病害的效果。（6）全球共享麦瘟病研究进展与数据，将助力麦瘟病的全球控制。本研究综述了麦瘟病的近期研究进展，并讨论了可持续控制该病害的潜在手段。
