Juungar flower markets thrive ahead of Chinese New Year

新春佳节，用鲜花装点家，营造喜庆的节日氛围，成为越来越多市民的选择。蛇年春节临近，花卉市场迎来销售热潮，浓浓的年味儿在花香中弥漫开来。

Decorating homes with vibrant flowers to create a festive atmosphere has become an increasingly popular choice during Spring Festival. As the Year of the Snake approaches, flower markets are bustling with activity, and the air is filled with the fragrant essence of the holiday spirit.

走进准格尔旗沙圪堵镇的一家大型花卉市场，花团锦簇、绿植葱葱，大盆小盆、错落有致地摆满店铺，各色鲜花竞相绽放，阵阵芬芳弥散在空气中，蝴蝶兰艳冠群芳，花朵繁茂；君子兰气宇轩昂，叶片挺拔。

Stepping into a large flower market in Shagedu town of Juungar Banner, one is greeted by a kaleidoscope of blooming flowers and lush greenery. Pots of all sizes are artistically arranged, showcasing a variety of fresh blossoms. Phalaenopsis orchids stand out with their rich blooms, while clivia plants exude elegance with their upright leaves.

这些象征着美好和健康的花卉绿植，成为家居装扮热门之选，居民大量采购，只为清新空气、扮靓生活。

These flowers and plants, symbolizing beauty and health, have become top choices for home decoration. Residents purchase them in abundance to freshen the air and brighten their living spaces.

“每年都来买两盆迎春花，迎春花过年放在家里喜庆。他们家的花品种多，有选择的余地，希望来年的日子红红火火。”沙圪堵镇居民粟脆说。

"I buy a couple of winter jasmine pots for the New Year every year. They add a festive touch to the house. This shop offers a wide variety, so there's plenty to choose from. I hope the coming year will be full of prosperity," said Su Cui, a resident of Shagedu town.

除了传统的花卉以外，红红火火的年宵花福桶也备受顾客的追捧和青睐。在薛家湾镇区一家花店，记者看到，花店负责人正在修剪银柳枝条、制作福桶。不一会儿，一个颜值高、寓意好的福桶就做好了。

In addition to traditional flowers, vibrant futong (fortune buckets) made of New Year flowers have also captured customers' hearts. At flower shops in Xuejiawan town, shop owners are seen trimming pussy willow branches and crafting futong. In no time, beautifully designed and symbolically meaningful arrangements are complete.

“从元旦开始，订福桶的人就比较多了，持续到腊月二十九。价位从100到300元的都有，顾客需求不一样，需要的产品也不一样。”花店负责人黄飞介绍。

"Since New Year's Day, we've received many orders for futong, and demand continues until the 29th of the twelfth lunar month," said Huang Fei, a shop owner. "Prices range from 100 yuan ($13.63) to 300 yuan, depending on the customer's preferences."

黄飞说，福桶年宵花做法有很多，可以选用红色的银柳、仿真冬青、孔雀叶为主材料，点缀招财猫、中国结、苹果等小挂饰，造型别致，非常讨喜。

Huang explained that futong is crafted using red silver willows, faux holly, and peacock leaves as the main materials. They are accented with decorations like lucky cats, Chinese knots, and apples, with especially appealing unique designs.

黄飞介绍，福桶年宵花每年春节的时候都很畅销，因为以红色为主，寓意新的一年红红火火，福桶里边有很多银柳，谐音是银两，发大财。而且，这也和我们每年盼吉祥、盼如意、盼平安息息相关。把福桶抱回家，也就是把“福气”抱回了家。

"These futong are popular during the Spring Festival. The red theme symbolizes prosperity, and the pussy willows represent 'silver', signifying wealth. It reflects our desire for good fortune, happiness, and peace. Bringing a futong home is like bringing blessings into the house," Huang added.

近年来，随着人们生活品质的提升，在春节前购买花卉来装饰房间，成为“年货必备清单”中必不可少的一项，在增添节日喜庆氛围的同时，也表达了人们辞旧迎新、平安幸福的美好愿望。

As people's living standards have improved in recent years, buying flowers before the Spring Festival has become an essential part of the New Year shopping list. Not only does it enhance the festive atmosphere, but it also expresses people's wishes for a safe and prosperous year ahead.
